Gibbons has worked with Vector Structural Engineering on numerous projects over the years, including completing the structural design for the Silky Otter Cinema and Joe’s Garage developments at Berryfields Crossing, multi tenanted commercial and light industrial builds including a small office development at LQS Industrial Park, and most recently a 4,000m² Woolworths Supermarket at Nelson Junction.

We’ve worked with VSE on a wide range of projects — from multistorey concrete and mass timber (including Green Star) buildings through to steel and precast warehouses and volume housing, under traditional, design-and-build, and ECI procurement. A high standard of expertise

The August 2022 rain event was devastating to our property; it ripped apart the driveway and then the foundation of our home.  We will never forget the image of our house hanging precariously over the hillside.  While a number of well-meaning professionals and acquaintances urged us to walk away from the house, Greg and his team were called in to assess the prospects of restoration.   Where others saw a tear-down, Greg saw possibilities.  He and his geotechnical team took a hard look and soon began to see practical solutions.  It is rare to find an engineer who has both hard and soft skills.  Calm and reassuring, Greg listened to us, and he clearly understood how important our home was.  He was an excellent communicator, effective in working with us and with other professionals.  He understood the complexity of the project; all the way from gathering vital geotechnical data, inventing a solution-based design, applying for consent, fleshing out detailed construction plans, and overseeing the actual construction.  He was patient, clear and strategic throughout the 18 month-long reconstruction.  Greg’s engineering expertise and his standing within the local community, collaborating with allied professionals in geology, architecture, and construction–not to mention Council staff–were essential to the ultimate success of this project.  His follow-through was consistent right through to the final finishing touch.  Greg and the team at Vector Structural Engineering have set a high standard of expertise and a conscientious ethic of care that made a profound and lasting difference in our lives.
